Story filled wedding photographs

Formby Hall resident wedding photographer Gavin Alexander

I have been a Formby Hall Wedding Photographer since my 12 year career began. Sarah and I got married at this incredible Liverpool wedding venue back in 2007.

We fell in love with the personal touch that Formby Hall provides. When we said “I DO” eleven years ago there was no hotel or the added bonus of two reception rooms to choose from.

Bride and Grooms have so much more choice now than we did. For the night of our wedding we had to book another hotel for us to say in. Now at Formby Hall you can make your wedding day into an entire weekend.

Check in the day before and enjoy all the facilities such as the 5* spa complete with a luxury swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Why not book a round of golf or knock a few balls around the range.

After your wedding day you and your nearest and dearest can enjoy breakfast together discussing the highlights of your special day. Hey why not book two nights then had into Formby Village, browse the shops and get back to enjoy your second day of relaxing spa treatments together.

Shortly after our wedding at Formby Hall I had a flurry of wedding photography bookings to documents weddings at this beautiful venue.

formby hall promotional magazineI was asked to share some of my photographs with the marketing team so they could be used for promotional purposes. Before I knew it I became Formby Hall’s resident wedding photographer.

Let me tell you I was smiling from ear to ear and still am to this day. It’s a real honour to get asked to be resident photographer in any wedding venue but this is the LUXURIOUS FORMBY HALL!!

Over the years I have documented hundreds of weddings here and I know every inch of this venue.

My photographs have been used in various press magazines and are the highlight of the recent Formby Hall wedding brochure.

Your Cheshire and Merseyside Wedding Magazine have featured my Formby Hall photographs in numerous articles.

Because I’m there so much my self and the wedding team our like family. I feel part of the team in making your wedding day special and never to be forgotten.

The wedding team welcome you with open arms and a hug. There is no pussy sales as the venue sells itself.

The team are very down to earth and the wealth of knowledge they have is outstanding. For whatever ideas you have they are on hand to guide you.

There aim is to ensure you and your wedding guests enjoy every second you spend on the resort.

Make an appointment and enjoy the tour and chat over a coffee and I promise you won’t be disappointed. Tel: 01704 875699

Not that the gardens were not stunning to begin with but Formby Hall have recently invested in new landscaped areas and it looks fantastic. The drive entrance is beautiful with a long stretch of palm and leafly trees guiding you into the main reception area.

Once inside and you walk through the reception area to the rear of the building you are presented with acre upon acre of a lush green golf course with full bodied woodland and colourful plants.

It’s the perfect backdrop for you and your weddings guest to soak up the atmosphere.

This picturesque setting is a perfect backdrop for your wedding photographs. This is why I love being a Formby Hall Wedding Photographer because the grounds are so beautiful there is no need to leave the resort for your portrait photographs.

On the ground floor of this stunning wedding venue the design team have introduced copper meets dark grey and it looks incredible. The huge copper light fittings and lamps look perfect set against the grey paint work. The colours provide that luxurious feeling and the sense to sit and chill.

Up stairs in both wedding reception rooms the team have kept to the grey theme but it’s nice and light lending itself to any colour theme that you have in mind.

Both the Ambassador and Diplomat suites have their own personalities. Both suites have decident views of the golf course and lush landscaped grounds.

The Ambassador has numerous french doors on the three sides of the room allowing you and guests to sep out on to the wrap around balcony. The balcony is perfect for hosting a BBQ, hog roast or even a stone pizza oven party for your evening buffet.

The Ambassador has two internal bars and the room can be divided into three separate rooms or keep it all open providing a huge space for you to enjoy your wedding ceremony, breakfast and evening.

The Diplomat is more intimate as the ceilings are not as high has the Ambassador suite. There are two huge patio doors on either end of the reception room with one end looking onto the fabulous golf course.

The Diplomat has the added bonus as the bar area is separate to the main room boasting further views onto the course, access to the balcony, a sitting area and it’s not to far from the action. The sitting area is perfect for guests that would like ten mins away from the music. I usually find Nans and Grandads sitting here with a pot of tea.
